A man says he traveled to an Enterprise branch in North Carolina to pick up a rental car he had already reserved, only to arrive and find no vehicle waiting for him.

The customer — who claims he created a TikTok account just so he can amplify his ordeal — posted as AirMax365.

In a series of videos, he explained that he traveled from Danville, Virginia, to Reidsville, North Carolina, after calling ahead and then booking online. Enterprise advertises online reservations at thousands of airport and neighborhood locations.

“I booked it, y’all gave my car to somebody else, somebody brought a car back, and you’re not doing anything for me,” the customer told Enterprise employees in the first video he shared on Saturday, October 10.

The video has more than 5.5 million views.

He said getting to the branch had already cost him money.

“I had to pay to get dropped off here, correct, and y’all just telling me I have to leave,” he said. “So I have to pay to get a car to go back.”

One employee said the branch’s inventory was “behind.” The staff also told him a recently returned vehicle could not be rented because it needed an oil change.

He also claimed he had already paid for a nonrefundable beach hotel.

In a follow-up TikTok video shared October 12, the man said an Enterprise area manager contacted him while his original video was still uploading and spent about 90 minutes reviewing what happened before, during, and after the incident.

According to the customer, the manager agreed the situation “could have [been] handled better” and said the branch should have tried to locate another vehicle for him.

He said the manager also told him the company would retrain employees in the area and offered him a 75 percent discount on a future rental.

However, the customer explained that the offer did not make up for the money he had already lost on a nonrefundable Myrtle Beach hotel deposit, especially because rates for the following weekend had “tripled the price.”

He added, “I just feel let down. I feel very disappointed.”

He also asked the area manager to review whether the car he believed should have been his had actually been reserved by another customer weeks earlier, and whether the oil-change explanation was accurate.

The customer said the manager told him the situation would be investigated.

He also criticized Enterprise’s reservation system, arguing that customers should have more certainty when booking.

“The system needs to be changed,” he said. “Enterprise needs to listen to the people.”

He ended the update with a blunt message to the company: “They need to do better. Enterprise, do better.”

The video sparked debate over whether the employees or Enterprise’s reservation system deserved the blame.

One user on TikTok wrote: “Enterprise is TERRRRRIBLE”

Another claimed, “Enterprise has done this to us multiple times EVEN when we booked our reservation 6 months in advance.”

Another person called for the staff member to be fired: “The guy that’s laughing should be fired”

Another user shared: “I work for a hotel. And if this happened with a room we would be apologizing profusely and paying for the guest to stay somewhere else. They should pay to get this man a car from somewhere else.”

Enterprise has not issued any public statement on the issue.
